Tuesday – time to ramble!

A Pastor’s View of Politics

  • I really don’t view politics around party lines. I view them Scripturally.
  • I don’t tend to discuss my political views too much with people because I think it can be divisive and distracting for a pastor to do so.
  • When it comes to politics and political issues I pray and vote about what I think is best according to Scripture.
  • When it comes to international politics, I am glad I am not the one making tough decisions.
  • Locally, nationally, and internationally I desire policy and practice that promote the highest degree of truth.
  • Politicians are like pastors in that they should care deeply about the people they serve. How quickly that can be missed as personal agendas can impact both groups (pastor and politicians).

The Role of Sports in My Life

  • It’s not what it used to be.
  • I used to dream about sports all the time.
  • I probably follow baseball the most, because I love the strategy.
  • I do think sports can promote a lot of healthy values and community pride and involvement.
  • I think it’s very important to determine what role sports (or anything) will play in the family. It’s very possible to be going to some activity or other seven days a week multiple times per day.
  • How do you evaluate what sports means compared to other priorities?
