Another Monday.  Another round of links (good articles to challenge your thinking) and bullets (a collection of my thoughts and sharing below!)

WEEKLY LINKS

LINK OF THE WEEK

How to cherish your wife.  Husbands and wives could have some good conversation about this.  It just made me think, as a husband, what do I want for my wife?

THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

–Good stuff on surviving spiritual depression.  It’s real and these are helpful tips.

–Think of Christian history this way.  There WAS NO GOLDEN AGE!

–Here’s one option for this upcoming election season: pray and vote.

–I love this author.  Are you safe? (really worth the short read on this one)

–A great article on why we work.

BULLET THOUGHTS

  • I am so terrible at household stuff.  In the past 48 hours I have: failed to ignite the pilot light on our hot water heater (I was so close!); installed a door stop – too far over for the door to hit it, therefore requiring my adjustment; and gotten frustrated putting up mini-blinds (the frustration subsided and we won!)
  • Who wants to win an iPad?  Oh yeah, that’s right.  For the third straight year, I will be giving away an iPad (current generation) as part of celebrating the fun I have writing this blog.  Look for contest details in a couple weeks.
  • The Browns won.  I thought this might happen.  Plus, they beat a division foe. This Sunday in Indianapolis will be a good test.
  • I am glad to be dropping mileage ahead of the big race coming up Nov. 3.  I have a hard time calling a 50 mile ultramarathon a race.  Doesn’t race imply you’re trying to get somewhere fast?  In this case, I’ll be trying to get somewhere slow.
  • The darkness will turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright.  And Christ’s great Kingdom shall come to earth, the kingdom of love and light.  Yeah!
  • I think the Yankees are done, unless their bats catch fire.  Possible, yes.  Not likely to win four of five from Detroit, with two against Verlander.
  • I am anxious to see where the journey of making disciples takes our church.
  • Foster parent classes continue!  Gotta love continuing ed requirement.
