A few rambling thoughts about the price of gas:
- I saw a survey that said most Americans would pay more for gas if it meant consequence for Putin.
- I can’t speak to the veracity of this, But let’s assume its truth for a moment.
- Is it a way to unify? Is it a way to sacrifice?
- A key question: do we really care enough about a country’s invasion enough to sacrifice from our own pockets?
- Another key question: do we really think it will work?
- The concept stirred me simply because not much unifies us.
- $4.00 – $5.00 gas really harms a lot of people here in the U.S.
- Would we go beyond paying more ourselves? Would we try to help our neighbor if needed?
- All of this to speak against an unprovoked war?
- I really don’t care to debate policy. For me it was a simple heart check.
- I think today I’ll leave it there.
- If you don’t think this is the place to unite, then where? On what point? Will sacrifice ever be a part of our response to world events as it has been in the past?
- Questions. The Bible tells us to love our neighbor. Maybe this crisis presents a good chance to evaluate that for all of us?
