Rambling today about God’s power…

  • Sometimes the sinfulness of human beings might make us think God lacks power after all.
  • But the Bible consistently shows a God whose power never diminishes despite the failings of humans.
  • Maybe you clicked on this in need of encouragement.
  • Maybe you clicked on this desiring to laugh at the idea of a powerful God.
  • Maybe you desperately want God to do something powerful for you.
  • In my weakest, most helpless feeling times God has shown up the most.
  • He created the world – not in a lab or by formula or big bang. Instead, He spoke it so.
  • He brought His people out of slavery by great plagues and the miracle of the Red Sea crossing.
  • He brought down the walls of Jericho.
  • He led people into difficult times of discipline and punishment for their wayward ways, just like we would expect a loving parent to do.
  • He sent His Son into a hurting, sin-stained world to display the glory of God. Jesus performed miracles, taught with authority, put up with inconsistent disciples, and eventually conquered death by rising from the dead.
  • Oh…His death? The only sacrifice able to give complete forgiveness.
  • For those who have believed in God’s plans in the past and His Son in more recent times, power is never far from the experience.
  • He still works the miracle of salvation, helping people to find true forgiveness and healing.
  • Don’t reduce to a decision or feeling. Getting right with God changes your life in a way you could never do yourself. It TRULY IS the power of God!
  • Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
  • He can work power in and through your life today – really, He can.
  • If it has seemed dark (it has for many over the past year), remember today the great and mighty works of our God.
