Rambling today about the Christmas season…

  • For me, Christmas means a difficult time of year.
  • Remembering loss comes with the territory.
  • Striving for family intentionality and balancing everything else going on proves quite challenging.
  • I’d love to hear how you strike balance. Any helpful tips?
  • My random favorite thing about Christmas? Even as an adult, I still wake up excited for Christmas Day – just more for everyone else than myself.
  • Traditions? Family Christmas light night, Christmas morning coffee cake, Variety Night and Christmas Eve service at our church rank among the highest for me.
  • I like to give more than receive. Getting and planning meaningful gifts takes time. I usually have a lot more ideas than I do time.
  • Christmas Tree Cakes rank nowhere near the top of the Little Debbie list. However, I did recently have a Christmas Tree Cake Flurry (like a Blizzard) at a recent establishment. I had no difficulty enjoying that.
  • The Christmas message brings so much hope. If you really believe the Biblical accounts, God completely barges into the history of mankind and announces the birth of His Son, in a miraculous way, for a miraculous reason. We could never save ourselves from sin, so I’m really glad God sent Jesus to do it for us. What hope! What glory!
  • Even at His birth, Jesus does not fit the mold of power, politics, or earthly wealth. His young parents entrust the birth event following the message of angels and through obedience involving this perfect God child in a manger.
  • I truly hope you have a Merry Christmas.
