T is for Tuesday. R is for Rambling…here we go!
Football!
- I wrote during the early pandemic restrictions that I liked how sports took a back seat to other priorities.
- I am enjoying watching football games with fans (and baseball games too).
- What about you? Has the return of sports challenged your priorities like it has for me?
- I know I need to exercise caution regarding how much energy I give to it.
- Fun? Yes. Important? No.
- Watching live sports? Yes, but maybe not the whole game. Sports talk? Very small doses.
Football and Racism (and other demeaning talk)
- You might know John Gruden’s name. He used to coach the Raiders (and other teams prior to that).
- Last night he resigned.
- Trails of emails have exposed troubling content spanning what seems like about a decade.
- This is not an internet cancel culture job. This resulted from an NFL investigation.
- Is this isolated? Is this more reflective of NFL culture? Time will tell.
- We should avoid language demeaning others. This is both Scriptural and professional.
- I wonder if this will lead to others coming under investigation as well?
Random Rambling
- I wonder about the concept of men and women befriending each other, especially if one or both are married.
- Some in Christian leadership seem to have avoided the pitfalls it can bring.
- Others write about the need to display such healthy relationships and show they don’t always lead to sin but instead can provide enrichment.
- Switching topics, how about Fall? Do you love fall? Hate it?
- I love the feel of cooler weather (soon, right?).
- I love fall cross country races.
- I don’t love pumpkin flavored things, but I do enjoy them seasonally.
- I love breathtaking views and rich colors.
- I love God’s creation.
- In this season I am praying for opportunities to evangelize. I’m also praying for motivation!
- I really enjoy Tuesdays. I hope you are ready for this one!
