Ok, so the arrow doesn’t point the straightest…Rambling today about moving forward into the New Year:

  • That arrow sort of sums it up. I don’t feel super on point as the New Year begins.
  • But forward we go, pushed by the hands of time!
  • Who really can feel 100% focused right now with everything in our culture continuing to blur together?
  • Politics, public health, division, church, fear – oh how they intermingle.
  • Will we ever escape these topics?
  • One way: talk about and focus on something else!
  • Do you know good things happen in God’s Kingdom?
  • That each day He works in ways humans cannot grasp?
  • If you knew it and saw it, would you care? I hope so!
  • We must not enslave ourselves to cultural narrative.
  • What about hoping? What if we truly hoped for more of our own spiritual victory? For family transformation? For deep healing and growth?
  • What about believing? What about truly trusting the promises of God?
  • What about encouraging? What if every day we picked up the phone and shot a text or made a call designed to encourage someone?
  • What about sharing God’s Word? What if we shared a helpful verse with someone who could stand to hear it?
  • What if people who did these things didn’t earn the label “super spiritual”? What if, instead, this simply reflected the climate of our churches?
  • What if we cheered on other Bible-believing churches? What if we prayed for them and for their leaders?
  • How do you react? Do I sound a bit “pie in the sky” for you today? I hope not.
  • As we move forward into 2022, I continue to hope and pray for the best for this world and all who dwell in it.
  • I truly believe we need God’s help to stay healthy in our views of life and each other.
