Rambling today about current events and the end times:

  • I do not consider myself a hyper-prophecy type of guy.
  • I don’t analyze every current event through a lens of how it fits with end times prophecy.
  • But according to the Bible, God means prophecy for our encouragement.
  • Encouragement? That sounds great right now, doesn’t it?
  • Yes, unknown seems to lay over our daily lives like a blanket. Doesn’t it?
  • The combination of unknown factors affecting our lives makes me wonder about the end times.
  • In general, we now experience less control regarding providing for ourselves than two years ago.
  • Example #1: supply chain and provision.
  • In the end times, a global anti-Christ figure will help resolve geo-political issues. People will love him for what he can do for them. He will gain power and control in this way.
  • Example #2: Public health would also fit into this category. No one can really explain the origin of this virus. We feel helplessly out of control.
  • Example #3: General division. Listen, wars have happened throughout history. But given the accessibility of social media and instant opinion sharing, the quick spread of division should not surprise us.
  • These dynamics open the door to a worldwide power figure who can unify.
  • Finally, let me mention the lack of love, especially in churches.
  • I read stories commonly about the harsh treatment believers show to either other believers, church leaders, or both. One can also easily find stories of supposed church leaders harming the ones they should protect.
  • A point of application. What if, instead of mindlessly wishing things will get back to normal, I truly desire God’s plans? What if personal discomfort for many of us leads to the fulfillment of God’s ultimate plans for this world?
  • I hope my perspective lines up with a readiness to experience the fulfillment of prophecy, however God chooses to bring things together.
