Tuesday Rambling 10.3.16 – Some Questions About the 2016 Election
Oct 4, 2016 | Tuesday Rambling |
Some rambling questions about this election:
- Did you really think I would write telling you how to cast your vote? Ha!
- A challenge: Can you continue a kingdom relationship with a believer who will vote differently than you in this election?
- Are you willing to risk unity in the body of Christ over political views? Why or why not?
- Do you realize Bible believing Christians approach politics in many different ways based on their various backgrounds?
- Do you realize many Bible believing Christians will vote third party this year?
- Will the winner of this election change your obedience to I Timothy 2:1-2? It reads as follows: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”
- Do you desire the salvation of all candidates?
- How will you treat and practically love believers who plan to vote for a different candidate?
- How does your knowledge of church history influence the way you view U.S. politics and this particular election?
- How does media coverage affect your view of the candidates and the election itself?
- How does the election of the two main nominees speak to the condition of our country?
- How much does the morality of the candidates matter to you? How much has it mattered in past elections? Do you have a consistent answer to that question?
- Do you pay lip service to God’s sovereignty regarding governments and particularly this election?
- Finally: will the outcome of this election change your desire to obey Jesus Christ?
