In all seriousness, let these five statements challenge you. You don’t have to agree, but I ask you to think and challenge yourself if you’re interested or sparked in any way.

Without further ado, here are five one sentence statements about politics:

1. I believe this country was founded on a very strong concept of individual liberty and I don’t think we should support government that restricts or removes our liberty or the liberty of the unborn.

2. I fully understand that affirming personal liberty means that some will mis-use it and that some will have more than others.

3. Freedom of speech as guaranteed by our Constitution means that I will commit to respecting and loving individuals, even those whose speech I vehemently disagree with.

4. I refuse to form an opinion based on ANY political ad and I commit to researching candidates and issues for myself.

5. If the freedoms granted me by the United States constitution were removed tomorrow and I was suddenly subjected to foreign rule and persecution, it would not change my identity as a citizen in the Kingdom of God granted me through faith in Jesus Christ and repentance of my sins (Mark 1:15)
