WEEKLY LINKS

LINK OF THE WEEK

–Often we forget older people when considering the gospel.  Here is a plea that should speak to all of us.

CHRISTIAN FAITH

–Think about perspective before you think about saying the church thrives under persecution.  Maybe it doesn’t.

–Ever feel lonely?  How about REAL connections?

–Good advice for how to pray without ceasing.

Great advice for those in youth ministry.  This is good if your church has youth ministry, whether you’re involved or not.

LOCAL TO AKRON

Meth made easy.  I’m all for personal freedom, but at what point are retailers and we as a society responsible to stop something ruining so many lives?

BULLET THOUGHTS

  • Maybe I’ll actually get something done now that the Olympics are over.  Anyone else feel the same way?
  • Despite hiding a few people, I feel like Facebook is really changing.  Here’s one key thought: I really don’t need to see someone’s personal conflicts and drama played out on social media.  This is true in what seems like a lot of situations.  We need to find better ways to communicate.  Sticking with it for now.
  • I am so excited to be challenging our church to make disciples.  I am being challenged and I hope others are as well.
  • Had a great time having lunch with friends in the community yesterday.  By the way, we got some really encouraging news and stories in the process.  Bottom line? God is moving and lives are changing.
  • Church softball ends tonight.  My sprinting muscles will thank me tremendously.  We are in the final four, so we’ll see how things go.
  • Speaking of training, I ran 52+ miles last week and will shoot slightly higher this week if things continue to go well.  I’ll be definitely looking forward to a down week next week.
  • The changes made in the baseball playoff format are paying off.  Bigtime.  It is going to be an exciting end to the season.
  • The change in weather has been a huge benefit for me.  I absolutely love this type of weather.
