Why is it so hard to hear criticism?

THE GLOBE

–Here are some stunning pics of the world.

–Here is something significant from Uganda.

THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

Discernment without anger.

Radical sacrifice.

ISSUES

Planned Parenthood’s role in the budget debacle.

To drink or to study?

–Teen pregnancy is down – but not for everyone.

RANDOM

–These are some sick photos of Tom Brady’s mansion.  If this is an earthly mansion, I wonder what heavenly mansions will look like!

BULLET THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

  • I really hate it when babies are sick.  Not in a selfish way.  It’s just really difficult to see them in pain and not be able to do anything about it.
  • I am re-learning to type with five fingers on my left hand.  Yes, that means I am getting some mobility back in my pinky finger.  I am able to play octaves on a piano and I am bending it farther and farther.  I have gone from being able to bend it about 10 degrees to almost being able to make a full fist in just a couple weeks.  Needless to say, I’m thrilled.  Still splinting for the next month as any accidental movement or falls could start the process over, but progress is very encouraging.
  • I am really looking forward to spiritual emphasis week coming up at our church.  We’re going to have some special services to be in fellowship, prayer, and God’s Word together throughout that week.  Exciting.
  • I don’t want to sound like a complainer, but it got too hot too fast.  Both yesterday and today I had trouble breathing while running.  Add in some nagging knee pain and it’s made for some crappy running. 70+ and humid at 6:30 in the morning?  That’s August, folks.  Looks like it will come down a bit here as the week goes on.  I guess it’s April!
  • I’m pretty excited for our church’s youth ministry.  It’s been great to see how quickly Josh has put down roots in this community and in this ministry.  Go Goss Youth!
  • I am looking forward to the soothing truth of the resurrection and getting a chance to focus on it for a few weeks beginning Easter Sunday.
  • How exciting it was to have three Laotian children begin attending our church in the past week.  I am so thrilled for the adoptive parents and for the children.  They all have beautiful smiles and it’s a thrill to have them.  Praying for all involved!
