Two years ago this week I made a commitment to blogging on a regular basis.  Over the past couple week’s I’ve been advertising an IPad 2 giveaway as a celebration of making it another year.  Congratulations to KEVIN SPALL as the winner of this year’s drawing. What fun to give away something as a blessing to someone else! Thanks to everyone who entered and to everyone who reads on a regular basis. On to this week’s links and bullets!

LINK OF THE WEEK

It sickens me that this still happens.

CHRISTIAN FAITH

A good story of church reform.

–Powerful one minute read on the authority of the Bible.

Stillness isn’t sexy.

Very short, very inspiring read.

This is a tremendous quote from a commentary on Hebrews.

BULLET THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

  • Yesterday was a day that made me worship Jesus more.
  • Comparatively, my problems are small.  It’s good to be reminded of that every once in a while.
  • Had an outstanding missions experience last Friday night.  If you’re up to it, pray for a young man with some tough decisions ahead of him and pray for his parents.
  • Don’t talk to me about the Browns.  We are talking basics of football in all aspects of the game just not being there.  Exhibit A: how can a team that knows it’s going to be blitzed be completely unprepared to handle it?  Sorry Shurmur, this is your job.
  • It was nice to see a lot of relatives in from out of town in church yesterday.  Good to see some familiar faces.
  • What if challenging things became the new normal for our lives?
  • Anyone else ready for the election to be over?  What does this say about our process?
  • Fridays and Saturdays are days I’ve had a difficult time adjusting to over the past year.  It’s because I want things to go well for Sunday.  I think I’m doing better at striking balance on those days and enjoying the time.  I’m hoping to stay less frustrated, asking God for the strength to do this.
  • It has been a thrill to get involved in the lives of a couple guys and challenge them with how to live like Christ.  I hope for more of these opportunities.
  • Hope everyone has a great week!
