Have a good look at this article. It’s a mom’s attempt to show how they are battling something all parents should be concerned with. We live in a very sexualized culture, and this family is making intentional decisions to try to counter-act that.
A few of my own comments:
1. I commend them for trying.
Seriously, they’re aware, and they’re trying. You may not agree with all their tactics, but they are aware of the seriousness of the issue and they’re trying.
2. Dad is not afraid to talk hard stuff.
Parents, hear this message. Talk hard stuff with your kids – dads, especially. This is not a time for fear, it is a time for challenge and honesty. We as parents have the opportunity to show our kids God’s truth. As it’s appropriate, look for those opportunities.
3. READ THE 10 THINGS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS ARTICLE.
Personally, I favor many of these ideas for life in general. I’m excited that these intentional steps as a parent promote activity, knowledge, and healthy spiritual interaction. I don’t know a lot of spiritually unhealthy people who live these values out as adults.
